Facebook was launched, marking the beginning of the social media era
Facebook is just another social network, but we mustn’t forget that it’s where it all began! Yes, it was on February 4, 2004 that Facebook was first put online by Mark Zuckerberg and his comrades.
Mark Zuckerberg set out to connect students at American universities when he was a student at Harvard. He surely had no idea of the impact it would have! In 2008, it was France’s turn to get to know this famous social network. Today, more than 2.91 billion active users (2022 data), 42% of them over 35, keep Facebook going. In fact, we should call it Meta from now on!
Today, social networks are an ever-evolving part of our daily lives. To stay up to date, we need to learn how to use them. Whether for personal or professional use, everyone uses social networks these days! Even our grandparents are getting in on the act, sending us animated GIFs of little cats… Just goes to show, you’re never too old to learn!
Facebook certainly has its negative aspects, but if we keep only the positive ones, above all it allows us to keep in touch with people we can no longer see, and that’s a great step forward! Maybe you’ve even kept in touch with old pals through this social network?
